Accessibility

We ask people with walking disabilities who want to visit the chapel to contact our office.

Barrier-free seats are available for the Sunday Holy Mass and can be reserved up to one week before the Sunday Mass.

The Imperial Chapel is situated right above the entrance of the Treasury, at Schweizerhof of the Wiener Hofburg in the city center of Vienna.

On foot:

You can reach Schweizerhof from multiple directions:

from Innerer Burghof (via Michaelerplatz, Ballhausplatz or Heldenplatz)
from Josefsplatz, passing through two tunnels separated by Kapellenhof
from Burggarten, where you take a passageway starting on the left of the Palmenhaus, which leads to Kapellenhof and further, through another tunnel, into Schweizerhof

Public transport:

Subway: U3 (Station Herrengasse or Volkstheater), U1 (Stephansplatz or Karlsplatz), U4 (Karlsplatz)

Tram: 1, 2, 71, D, 46, 49

Bus: 2A, 3A

By car:

Parking is possible either on public streets and parking lots: Bellariastraße/Schmerlingplatz, Rathausplatz, Morzinplatz

Or in underground car parks: Operngarage, Freyung, Museumsquartier
